Anna Paquin was born in New Zealand and raised in Canada. She is a Canadian-New Zealander that has appeared in various films including X-Men, X-Men, and Fly Away Home. It was not her intention to pursue a career in acting and yet fate determined that she was going to. Her auditions included a number of performances after her debut, however she declined them to focus on studying. The film returned when she was 14 years old to play in the role of the mutant Rogue in X-Men The first film in the X-Men film series. The role earned international fame to her. She reprised her role as 'Rogue' in sequels including "X2," and "X-Men: The Last Stand. In addition, she made tiny screen appearances, most notably as 'Elaine ' Goodale 'Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee,' in which she was awarded her first 'Emmy' nomination. She was soon inundated with requests to appear in television shows. The roles she played included 'True Blood,' 'Flack', and many others.
